We always want our coffee to go down a treat here at The Barns. So the beans we have chosen to use at the moment come all the way from the Urrutias Estate which sits in the Cordillera of Apancea Ilamatepeca volcanic mountain range in Western El Salvador. Highly respected within the industry for its close working links with Cup of Excellence, these bourbon varietal beans give a chocolatey taste that is smooth yet rich in body with a nutty cherry aftertaste to it, then its crisp acidity kicks in with a limey zing.
It is very important to us to know the ethical background of our products so we always choose coffee that has been certified by the Rainforest Alliance who work to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods. Find out more about them www.rainforest-alliance.org
Once the beans arrive in the UK, they are wood roasted just up the road in Witney by our friends at UE Coffee Roasters using sustainably and locally sourced English oak. UE are the only coffee roasters in the UK using a wood roasting process. So what? Well, it’s much more environmentally friendly than gas roasting and we love working with authentic artisans!
The Finest Tea
We’ve a fabulous selection of the finest quality loose-leaf teas, so you can enjoy the ultimate tea experience. We get our teas from a small family business in South Wales called Chantler Teas. Chantlers source all their teas from plantations that are either signatories to Fairtrade or/and are part of the Ethical Trade Partnership (ETP), an organisation of tea producers and importers who work together to ensure the highest possible standard for estate owners and workers alike.
We’ve got nearly twenty different varieties to choose from. Why not pick one you’ve never tried before?
