Our coffee comes all the way from a lush, diverse and beautiful place called Santa Adelaida in El Salvador, where a community of 250 families who live and work together to grow it on a farm that is certified by the Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade and with Organic methods. The cooperative maintains three schools, a medical facility and housing for everyone. Their Bourbon varietal coffee is grown under dense shade trees, which prolongs the ripening of the coffee cherries and instils fantastic sweetness and acidity in the beans. The beans are then wood roasted just up the road in Witney with wood from Blenheim. Our coffee roasters are the only ones in the country to use a wood roasting process on their coffee beans and one of 20 places in the entire world! So what!? Well it’s much more eco-friendly than gas roasting and adds a nice touch of flavour to your coffee.
